Ergonomics and Cycling Tourism - 3 june 2025, 10,00–13,30

On June 3, 2025, the World Bicycle Day will be celebrated worldwide. On June 3 of last year, we wanted to celebrate this day at Villa Santa Lucia. The Municipality expresses the presidency of the Association of Municipalities of the province of Frosinone, the SER.A.F. Association founded in 2004 together with the Association of Municipalities of the province of Latina, the SER.A.L. Association. Both, along with the Association of Municipalities of the province of Rieti, the SER.A.R. Association, signed an Agreement in 2016 with the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (UNICAS).

In the renewal of the Agreement signed in August 2024, based on the experience gained from 2016 to 2024, a specific collaboration was planned "for the development of local development projects of territorial significance on Walks and European cultural Routes and... the construction of digital tools to promote the assets held by both individual and associated Municipalities..." The Via Francigena in the South and the Route Liberation Europe, which are two European cultural Routes accredited by the Council of Europe, and the Way of Saint Benedict, which is an interregional Path recognized by the Lazio Region, pass through Villa Santa Lucia. All three routes are walkable, but also accessible by bicycle.

The municipality of Villa Santa Lucia has also received funding from the Ministry of Tourism to make the path of the Way of Saint Benedict that crosses it more "ergonomic". Physical Ergonomics interventions (for the increased safety of certain sections), Cognitive Ergonomics (use of digital tools to enhance the tourist attractions of the territory traversed by the Path), and Organizational Ergonomics (intermunicipal integration for tourist promotion) have been planned.

The outcome of the project intervention will be presented at the International Fair of Ergonomics of the Paths, whose second edition will take place on the 23rd, in Cassino, and on the 24th of October, in Gaeta, at the locations of UNICAS in collaboration with the Delegate of the Rector for the Dissemination of Culture and Knowledge. On June 3, the mayor of Villa Santa Lucia, also the president of SER.A.F., assisted by the Secretariat of the Association, is pleased to meet the local cycling associations that wish to join the initiative and show them and the fellow Administrators of the Association the progress of the project: 'The Meeting of Saints', along with the municipal technicians and the companies working on the project, also to gather any suggestions.
