Cammino di S.Filippo Neri
Cassino - Gaeta
In the heart of southern Lazio, among valleys, hills, and ancient villages, stretches the Way of Saint Philip Neri, an itinerary that combines spirituality, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. This historical-religious path follows the footsteps of the Saint of Joy, an tireless pilgrim who, in the 16th century, frequently traveled between Rome and Gaeta, crossing the ancient Kingdom of Naples to reach places of meditation and prayer.
The route extends for about 120 km, starting from Cassino, a city symbolizing Christianity and historical resilience, and reaching Gaeta, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, where the suggestive Sanctuary of the Split Mountain is located. The itinerary is divided into seven stages, guiding travelers through territories rich in historical testimonies, sacred art, and local traditions, offering an experience of deep connection with history and nature.
The Way of Saint Philip Neri represents much more than a spiritual pilgrimage: it is a journey that embraces the essence of slow travel, allowing one to discover authentic landscapes and immerse oneself in a dimension of reflection and personal growth. Along the way, pilgrims and hikers have the opportunity to cross medieval villages, traverse mountain paths, and admire views ranging from the Mainarde to the Tyrrhenian coasts, following a path that preserves the soul of the saint and the history of these lands.
