Aquino Museo
CategoriaFollowing the Via Latina, which is now part of the Via Francigena in the South, and after passing the archaeological area of Aquinum, one reaches the Museum of the City of Aquino. It was inaugurated in 2000 and since 2015 is named after the Syrian archaeologist Khaled al Assad.
The archaeological collection has a section dedicated to Prehistory and Protohistory that gathers local paleontological finds. A large panel placed at the entrance features a Mammoth. In addition to the archaeological collections, the museum indeed exhibits fossils and remains of prehistoric animals found in the area, providing an overview of the fauna that populated the area millions of years ago.
